Lalita Mahalakshmi Stotra (ललिता महालक्ष्मी स्तोत्र): Lalita Mahalakshmi Stotra is contained in the chapter called Lalithopakyanam from Brahmaand Purana. Lalita Mahalakshmi is a highly revered Sanskrit Stotra which addressed the 300 Divine Names of Goddess Lalita or Goddess Parvati Devi. Similar to Lalita Sahastranaam, the Lalita Mahalakshmi Stotra features as a conversation between Sage Agastya and Lord Hayagriva (the avatar of Lord Vishnu with Horse Head).
Lalita Mahalakshmi Stotra is considered as the most secret of the Stotra and describes the three hundred names of Goddess Lalita. The unique composition of the Lalita Mahalakshmi Stotra is that each twenty names of Lalita Mahalakshmi start from each of the 15 letters which forms the Pancha Dasakshari Mantra.
Mahalakshmi is the supreme Deity who is also known as Tripura Sundari or Sri Vidya or Lalithambika or Lalita. Mahalakshmi is the confluence of Lakshmi (satvic), Saraswati (rajasik) and Kali (tamasik) powers. Here, the term “Maha” is not an adjective used for the noun “Lakshmi”. While Lord Vishnu’s consort is Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Vishnu Himself is a Sri Vidya Upasaka, i.e., He worships Mahalakshmi. This is exemplified through Lord Hayagreeva’s chanting of Lalita Sahastranaam Sthothram to Sage Agasthya.
In its true essence, Mahalakshmi is the Cosmic Power called Shakti which maintains the Vibrancy (Vishnu) as well as make one realize his/her true identity (Siva). Mahalakshmi is the supreme Saktheya Deity Who embodies the real knowledge (wisdom) towards Self Realization. Her two lower hands signify Abhayam (protection or shielding from misguidance) and Varadam (blessings to receive true guidance). Her two upper hands carry the sacred lotus flower signifying nothing other than the invisible lotus, called the “Sahasrara Dala Padmam” (thousand petaled lotus), in our astral body, which is positioned beyond the six chakras.
According to mythological belief, on this day, the mother Lalita appeared to kill a demon named ‘Bhanda’ which was born from Kamdev’s body. Devotee temples seem to be on this day. This fast is to provide all the pleasures, so on this day the worship of Lord Lalita is of particular importance. On this day, the text of Lalita Mahalakshmi Stotra is done exclusively.

ललिता महालक्ष्मी स्तोत्र/Lalita Mahalakshmi Stotra
वैष्णव-सम्प्रदाय के प्रसिद्ध ग्रन्थ “लक्ष्मी-नारायण-संहिता” से उद्धृत निम्न स्तोत्र शक्ति-साधना से सम्बन्धित है। वैष्णव ग्रन्थ होने के कारण इनकी साधना-प्रणाली ‘वैष्णवाचार’-परक है।
।। श्री नारायणी श्रीरुवाच ।।
ललिताख्य-महा-लक्ष्म्या, नामान्यसंख्यानि वै । तथाप्यष्टोत्तर-शतं, स-पादं श्रावय प्रभो ! ।।
हे प्रभो ! ललिता महा-लक्ष्मी के असंख्य नाम हैं । तथापि उनके एक सौ पैंतीस नामों को सुनाइए ।
।। श्री पुरुषोत्तमोवाच ।।
मुख्य-नाम्नां प्रपाठेन, फलं सर्वाभिधानकम् । भवेदेवेति मुख्यानि, तत्र वक्ष्यामि संश्रृणु ।।
ललिता श्री महा-लक्ष्मीर्लक्ष्मी रमा च पद्मिनी । कमला सम्पदीशा च, पद्मालयेन्दिरेश्वरी ।।
परमेशी सती ब्राह्मी, नारायणी च वैष्णवी । परमेश्वरी महेशानी, शक्तीशा पुरुषोत्तमी ।।
बिम्बी माया महा-माया, मूल-प्रकृतिरच्युती । वासुदेवी हिरण्या च हरिणी च हिरण्मयी ।।
कार्ष्णी कामेश्वरी चापि कामाक्षी भगमालिनी । वह्निवासा सुन्दरी च संविच्च विजया जया ।।
मंगला मोहिनी तापी वाराही सिद्धिरीशिता । भुक्तिः कौमारिकी बुद्धिश्चामृता दुःखहा प्रसूः ।।
सुभाग्यानन्दिनी संपद्, विमला विंद्विकाभिधा । माता मूर्तिर्योगिनी च, चक्रिकार्चा रतिधृती ।।
श्यामा मनोरमा प्रीतिः ऋद्धिः छाया च पूर्णिमा । तुष्टिः प्रज्ञा पद्मावती दुर्गा लीला च माणिकी ।।
उद्यमा भारती विश्वा, विभूतिर्विनता शुभा । कीर्तिः क्रिया च कल्याणी विद्या कला च कुंकुमा ।।
पुण्या पुराणा वागीशी, वरदा विभवात्मिनी । सरस्वती शिवा नादा, प्रतिष्ठा संस्कृता त्रयी ।।
आयुर्जीवा स्वर्ण-रेखा, दक्षा वीरा च रागिनी । चपला पंडिता काली, भद्राम्बिका च मानिनी ।।
विशालाक्षी वल्लभा च गोपी नारी नारायणी । संतुष्टा च सुषुम्ना च, क्षमा धात्री च वारुणी ।।
गुर्वी साध्वी च गायत्री, दक्षिणा चान्नपूर्णिका । राजलक्ष्मीः सिद्धमाता माधवी भार्गवी परो ।।
हारिती राशियानी च, प्राचीनी गौरिका श्रुतिः ।
।। फल-श्रुति ।।
इत्यष्टोत्तर-शतकं, सप्त-विंशतिरित्यपि । ललिता-मुख्य-नामानि, कथितानि तव प्रिये !
नित्यं यः पठते तस्य, भुक्तिर्मुक्तिः कर-स्थिता । स्मृद्धिर्वंशस्य विस्तारः, सर्वानन्दा भवन्ति वै ।।
हे प्रिये ! ललिता के मुख्य एक सौ आठ और सत्ताइस नाम तुमसे कहे हैं। जो नित्य इन नामों को पढ़ता है, उसके कुल की सम्पन्नता बढ़ती है, सभी प्रकार के सुख मिलते हैं और भोग-मोक्ष उसके हाथ में रहते हैं अर्थात् साधक सभी भोगों को भोगकर अन्त में मोक्ष पाता है।
