जगत् स्वामिन प्रभो गुप्तदक्ष की अव्यर्थ-इच्छा से ‘मुण्डमाला तन्त्रम’ का नवीन संस्करण प्राच्य प्रकाशन, वाराणसी से प्रकाशित हो रहा है। यह तंत्रशास्त्र का एक प्रमाणिक तन्त्रग्रन्थ है। सर्वप्रथम प्रकाशित ‘मुण्डमाला तन्त्रम’ में प्रथम पटल से दशम पटल तक ही प्रकाशित हुआ था।  बाद मे रसिक मोहन जी ने एक मुण्डमाला तन्त्रम को प्रकाशित किया। इसमें प्रथम पटल से षष्ठ पटल तक ही था। इसमें वचनों को अनेक स्थानों पर प्रमाण रूप में ग्रहण किया गया है, परन्तु दशम पटलान्त ‘मुण्डमाला तन्त्रम’ के किसी वचनों को प्रमाण रूप में ग्रहण नहीं किया गया है। ऐसा प्रतीत होता है कि ये दोनों ‘मुण्डमाला तन्त्रम’ प्रकृत ग्रन्थ है। भगवान शंकर के पांच मुण्डों से यह तन्त्र प्रकाशित हुआ था। एक मुंड के द्वारा जो जो विषय कहे गये है। दूसरे मुण्ड के द्वारा वह नहीं कहा गया। इस प्रकार पांच मुण्डों के द्वारा पृथक पृथक विषय प्रकाशित किये गये है। ऐसा प्रतीत होता है कि पहला ग्रन्थ एक मुंड के द्वारा कथित हुआ है।
