दुर्गे कहो या दुर्गेति कहो या दुर्गाया कहो, यह सभी नाम मनुष्य के लिए परम् हितैषी हैं। जो व्यक्ति इन नामों का भजन करता है या इन नामों को जीवन का आधार बनाता है वही मानव जीवन से मुक्त हो मोक्ष प्राप्त करता है। वास्तव में ‘दुर्गा’ का नाम सर्वथा सुलभ तथा शीघ्र ही महान फल प्रदान करता है। जो व्यक्ति भगवती दुर्गा की उपासना करता है, वह सभी सिद्धियाँ प्राप्त करता है। यदि आप ‘दुर्गा’ शब्द की विशेषता जानेंगे तो पायेगे कि यह नाम अत्यन्त महान है। इस नाम में द, उ, ग, र तथा अ शब्द समाये हुए हैं। इन शब्दों की व्याख्या की जाये तो ‘द’ असुरों का नाशक है। ‘र’ शब्द रोगों का नाशक है तथा ‘अ’ शब्द अभिमान का नाशक है। -Shree Durga Rahasya Book.

इस भांति विचार करने पर समझ में आता है कि ‘दुर्गा’ नाम के उच्चारण मात्र से ही असुर, विघ्न, पाप, रोग तथा अभिमान का अन्त होकर सुख सौभाग्य का उदय होता है। ऐसी दुर्गति नाशिनी माँ को छोड़कर क्या और कहीं सुख मिलेगा? भगवान् विष्णु का एक भक्त बड़े ही मनोयोग से विष्णु की आराधना करता था। इससे प्रसन्न होकर विष्णु ने उन्हें दर्शन दिया और वर माँगने के लिए कहा तो उसने मोक्ष माँगा। यह सुनकर विष्णु उसे लेकर देवी के पास आ गये औए उन्हें पूरी बात बता दी। देवी ने उस साधक को मोक्ष दे दिया। भारतवर्ष एक ऐसा राष्ट्र है, जहाँ की संस्कृति ही कुछ इस भांति की है कि यहाँ के नागरिक अपने ज्ञान के अनुसार कुछ न कुछ दैव उपासना करते ही रहते हैं। भोगों में रोग का भय रहता है उच्च कुल में पतित हो जाने का भय रहता है। धन के सम्बन्ध में रजा तथा चोर का भय रहता है। मौन रहने के कारण दीनता का भय रहता है। शक्ति में शत्रु का भय रहता है। सौन्दर्य है तो वृद्धावस्था का भय रहता है। शास्त्रों में वाद-विवाद का भय बना रहता है। शरीर है तो मृत्यु का भय रहता है। इस नश्वर जगत में जो कुछ भी है, वह भय रहित नहीं है और यदि भय रहित कुछ है तो वह है उपासना। अतः मैंने आप सबके लाभार्थ आदि भवानी श्री दुर्गा देवी की उपासना पर यह पुस्तक ‘श्री दुर्गा रहस्य और दुर्गा उपासना पद्धति’ लिखी है। -Shree Durga Rahasya Book.
