• Before burning, open the windows and doors of the room so that the smoke comes out.
• However, burn it in a vessel which is not flammable. Therefore, use only earthen vessels.
• After burning, spread the smoke to all corners of the room and courtyard.
• Be sure to keep water in a copper vessel near the burning vessel. When the Indian White Sage is completely burnt. Add its burnt residue to the water and plant it in the plant pots.

• जलाने से पहले कमरे की खिड़की दरवाजें वगैरह खोल दें जिससे धुआं बाहर के तरफ निकले ৷
• इसे ऐसे पात्र में जलाएं जो ज्वलनशील न हो ৷ इसलिए मिटटी के पात्र का ही उपयोग करें ৷
• जलने के बाद धुंए को कमरे के सब कोने पर, आँगन में घुमा दें ৷
• जलते हुए पात्र के पास एक तांबे के वर्तन में पानी अवश्य रखें ৷ जब सफ़ेद सेज पूरा जल जाए तो उसका जला हुआ अवशिष्ट उस पानी में डाले और उसे पौधों के गमले में दाल दे ৷

नियम:

• सफ़ेद सेज जलाते समय बच्चों को पहुँच से दूर रखे ৷ ज्वलनशील वस्तुओं को भी दूर रखें ৷
