Durga Frame/Durga Mata Picture Frame (दुर्गा फ्रेम): The Hindu god Shiva, the husband of Durga, is also worshiped during this festival. The festival begins on the first day of Mahalaya, which marks the arrival of Mother Durga in her fight against evil. The Durga Puja celebration increased during the British Raj in Bengal and Assam. The first worship of Goddess Durga people celebrated in the late 16th century. According to the source, Raja Kangshanarayan of Taherpur or Bhabananda Mazumdar of Nadiya organized the first Sharadija or Autumn Durga Puja in Bengal in BC. 1606. (Durga Frame)
The origin of the community Puja can be attributed to twelve friends of Guptipara in Hooghly, West Bengal. The legend behind the Durga Puja festival is that Mahishasur, the Buffalo Demon, received blessings from Lord Brahma through years of prayers, making him invincible. Once he got this power, he started destroying the world, killing people, and trying to kill the gods as well. Horrified, the gods joined forces to create a girl, each placing each of their most powerful weapons into one of her ten hands. Riding a lion, she killed a demon. (Durga Mata Picture Frame)
Durga Puja celebrations are also famous as Akalbodhon. This is because Lord Ram wanted the blessings of Goddess Durga. That is to save his wife Sita from the clutches of Ravana. Goddess Durga, pleased with Rama’s devotion, appeared before Ram and blessed her. Since Ram invoked the goddess during autumn, she is familiar as “Akalbodhon”. People also say that Lord Shiva allowed Goddess Durga (Durga Frame)to visit her mother only for nine days in a year. Therefore, this festival means her visit to her mother.
