Durga Puja celebrations are also famous as Akalbodhon. This is because Lord Ram wanted the blessings of Goddess Durga. That is to save his wife Sita from the clutches of Ravana. Goddess Durga, pleased with Rama’s devotion, appeared before Ram and blessed her. Since Ram invoked the goddess during autumn, she is familiar as “Akalbodhon”. They are Goddess Lakshmi (goddess of wealth and prosperity), Saraswati, Ganesh, and Kartikeya. The last two are the children of Durga (Parvati).
