Rama was ordered by sage Vishwa Mithra to kill Yayati. Sensing danger, Yayati went to Hanuman for help, who in return promised to save Yayati from any danger. For instance, Hanuman did not use any weapon in his battle against Ravan, but he stood on the battlefield chanting only Rama’s name. The arrows from Lord Rama’s bow had no effect on Hanuman. Hanuman once visited Sita in sage Valmiki’s hut and expressed his desire to eat the food that Sita had cooked. Sita made many delicacies and served Hanuman. But Hanuman’s hunger was insatiable and the entire ration in the hut was running out. Sita then prayed to Lord Rama who suggested that she serve a morsel with a Tulsi leaf. Legend

These events, one can know by reading the Ramayana which happened in the Treta Yuga. Mahabharata happened in Dwapar Yuga and led to the arrival of Kali Yuga. In the Mahabharata, we have mythological stories and anecdotes describing the meeting of Bhima, the second of the Pandavas, and Lord Hanuman.
