Dhurjata Mala/Dhurjata Puja Rosary (धुर्जाटा माला): Dhurjaṭa is the name of a Gaṇa (servant of Shiva and/or Parvati), according to the Kathasaritsagara. Accordingly, when the goddess (Parvati) uttered this command, one Gaṇa named Dhurjata said, ‘Goddess, this is very unjust; these excellent Gaṇas do not deserve such a severe curse for a very small offense”. This work is said to have been an adaptation of Guṇḍhya’s Bṛihatkathā consisting of 100,000 verses, which in turn is part of a larger work containing 700,000 verses.
