Shri Dhanvantri Upasana Yantra/Shri Dhanvantri Puja Yantra (श्री धन्वन्तरि उपासना यंत्र): According to Hindu belief, ‘Shri Dhanvantari’ is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu who started Ayurveda. He had descended on the earth at the time of the churning of the ocean. Moon appeared on Sharad Purnima, Kamdhenu cow on Kartik Dwadashi, and Dhanvantari on Thrayodashi. Besides, Kali Mata on Chaturdashi and Bhagwati Mahalakshmi Ji emerged from the ocean on Amavasya.

Sushruta was the disciple of Divodas and the son of Rishi Vishwamitra. He was the one who wrote Sushruta Samhita. Sushruta was the first surgeon (surgeon) of the world. On the occasion of Diwali, Kartik worships Lord Dhanvantari on Thrayodashi-Dhanteras. Maharudra Lord Shankar drank the poison produced by the churning of the Vyom ocean of Triloki. Dhanvantari provided nectar and thus Kashi became a timeless city.

The importance and place that Ashwini got in the Vedic period, the same Dhanvantari got in the Puranic period. Where Ashwini had Madhukalash in her hand, Dhanvantari got the pot of nectar, because Vishnu protects the world. So Dhanvantari, who protects from diseases, is a part of Vishnu.
