Although all twelve Stotra are in praise on God but the third Stotra is the philosophy of Madhvacharya. It is a ritual to recite Dwadasha Stotra at the time of “Naivediya” of Bhog (offering Food to God) in Madhava Temple.
It is a series of 12 Stotra composed by Sri Madhvacharya, the 13th-century founder of the Tattvavada or Dwaita school of philosophy. ‘Dwadasha’ in Sanskrit means 12 and all the 12 Stotra are in praise of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that the Stotra were composed in connection with the installation of the idol of Lord Krishna at Udupi. While most of the 12 Stotra are praises of the Lord, the third Stotra is actually a summary of Madhvacharya’s philosophy.
